Christopher Hannon is the author of the forthcoming The King’s Road and the creator, showrunner and director of Echoes of Asgard. Originally from England and a U.S. Navy veteran, Hannon approaches Norse mythology through a civilization-first lens, asking how law, roads, food, work, family and consequence shape the people whose lives later become legend.
Christopher Hannon is an author, creator and filmmaker whose work grew from a longstanding study of Norse mythology and a personal Norse Pagan practice. The creative seed for Echoes of Asgard was small: factual live-action YouTube reenactments of Odin, followed by Thor and Tyr. Researching how those figures might actually stand, speak and move inside a believable world changed the question. Hannon became increasingly interested in the people, systems and ordinary work surrounding the mythology.
That investigation developed into Echoes of Asgard, an original one-hour serialized television drama and a connected literary world built around the principle “civilization before mythology.” Hannon writes all eight Season One teleplays and leads the project’s story, research, geography, worldbuilding and virtual-production direction. His first publishing release, The King’s Road, is Volume I of Stone and Oath, the first Echoes of Asgard Chronicle, publishing October 27, 2026.
His work deliberately separates surviving Norse source material, historical context and fictional adaptation. The goal is not to flatten living religion or uncertain history into a single authoritative answer. It is to find the human questions that continue to survive underneath the stories.
