Before the legends, there was a road home.
The King’s Road follows Thor onto the eastern road after a patrol falls silent. Finding the missing men is the immediate task. Bringing them home means confronting signs of danger that become harder to ignore with every mile.
Asgard remains behind him: a working city of workshops, families and water channels, held together by people whose responsibilities do not pause when trouble begins. Sif, Tyr, Loki and Odin face pressure within the city as the consequences of events beyond its walls begin to reach home.
The people inside the story
Christopher Hannon’s approach to Echoes of Asgard begins with the society around its familiar figures. A road matters because somebody depends on it. A promise matters because somebody has trusted it. Law, work, family and military responsibility give the story its consequences.
The novel is Volume I of Echoes of Asgard: The First Chronicle, Stone and Oath. Ebook and paperback publication are scheduled for October 27, 2026. The paperback is 194 pages; ebook pagination can vary with the reading format.

Hannon’s essays explore the research, writing and production questions behind the project. They consider surviving Norse sources alongside the choices required to create fiction. His production-world work uses geography and terrain to examine the practical relationships between places, people and events.
